Just received a new tumble druyer with an option to connect a small diameter rubber drain hose rather than use the reservoir. Sounds good and we have a washing machine drain next to it but this would involve the pipe going up to push into the top opening alongside the washer's pipe.
Do tumble dryers "pump" the water out though or does it need gravity on its side? No clues in the manual.
Interested as I have the same, and keep forgetting to empty the reservoir so it just stops mid dry.
Ours pumps. Pretty sure yours will too.
Having just done the same, ours goes bottom of dryer to top of washing machine drain.
And, if there's a choice of two, make sure you unplug the right hose. I didn't, and blimey the room was steamy when we used the dryer for the first time...
Another pumper here too
Ours pumps from the bottom to the top (it's obvious if you think about the relationship between the condenser and the water drawer). A basic kit is all you need, it's literally a double barb connector and a length of hose, an aquarium could probably supply it.
Do it. Our dryer works so much better for it.
There’s a pump.
I got around to doing ours after 6 years when the belt snapped and I had it down (there’s a built in cupboard they live in). Amazing to not be faffing with the tank any more.
My Bosch has a drain tube like that but you have to buy an extra kit separately if you want to bypass the reservoir and pump to drain. I don’t know if that means that the pump is not in the dryer or if it is just plastic extension pieces.
Edit- the reservoir is at the top so it must have a pump. The kit must be extension and/ or neatness.
Ok thanks all. Just need pipe clips (not included) and I can get it sorted.
Suspect this post has ruled me out of the who to have a pint with thread😂
