I did my first Duathlon today. I thought that I can sort-of run and I can ride a bike, so it can't be hard, can it? However, nothing prepared me for the pain of trying to run after getting off the bike. I had obviously absent-mindedly put on my lead boots, and ended up laughing at my complete inability to move my legs.

That is all.

were you doing the tri-ferris event near Malmsbury?

It was my first one as well and yes i wasn't expecting it to hurt that much.

That's the one. The icy ruts were interesting, weren't they?

I did my first Duathlon at Glentress a few weeks ago. It nearly broke me! But I'm going back to do it again later this month.

Do some brick training, go for a ride and when you get back do a short 10 min run. Gets your body vaguely used to that change.

Totally know where you are coming from, did my first at Llandegla today, same as you, they also put an arse of a climb straight after the transition zone, was not pleasant. That said I'll def be doing another, loved the off road running!
