Coming from a good P&S (Ricoh CX2): thinking of an 'old tool' to try out and get me thinking.

Is cleaning sensors a faff - should I hold out for one with a self cleaning / vibrating sensor?
Would I miss a flash on board? Depending on cost, not a problem to buy a unit I guess. Main camera use would be outside - the Ricoh could be the 'indoor' camera....?
What are the benefits of on board IS vs having it in lens - thinking on board IS and heading down the Olympus or Pentax route to access a cheap lens set.
What do we think of an 'old' 6-8mp DSLR - Pentax likely, maybe Olympus....

I love my Canon's.
Never had any issues at all with any of them, interchangeable lenses across them all, loads of options and secondhand stuff on ebay, etc.
Just upgraded my 1000D to a 5D after a few years and the 1000D is still going perfect!
You can end up with stuff that sits there "just in case" as with the 1000D now but they just keep going.
The 5D is from someone else, the 100-D will go to someone else, my 350D will stay with me.
Can't afford a 1D MKIII though..... 🙁

Thanks, but looking for a cheaper thing again. Looking at some sub-£200 cameras at the moment.
