When the car is covered in snow do you scrape the snow off the roof?
or wait for it to slide down the windscreen when you brake hard, there seams to be loads of people driving about with heaps of snow on thier roofs, I'm sure this is a minor motoring offence in scandanavian countries for that very reason and the fact it might slide off in to the path of a following vehicle. Guess this is just another example of how british motorists are incapable of driving in the snow.
Wait for it to fall off.
Another reason to keep plenty of distance from me 🙂
I like to drive around with loads of snow on my roof.
In fact, I get quite annoyed if I park up and some kids wipe some off to make snow balls - cheeky little gits.
I'm literally just in the door having driven from Edinburgh to Newcastle.
I got flashed a three times by folk, presumably because they thought I had my full beams on. Thanks mate, but they are dipped, it's just that your windscreen is so covered in crap that you're getting a lot of glare.
Also got passed by folk on the dual carriageway who thought that 80 was a reasonable speed to overtake at, despite the outside lane being under a couple of inches of snow.
Then there were the folk in Edinburgh this morning who went to the other extreme and crawled along at 20 despite the fact the snow wasn't lying at that point and the viz was fine.
They fine us in France! And the Swiss will stop us at the border and refuse to let us in if we leave snow on the roof.
Would you want a large slab of snow to slide down your windscreen entirely blocking your vision when you apply the brakes?
ditto endlessride. I was just driving down to the shops in Morrilon and the police pulled me up and started giving me an earbashing. I quickly explained I was english but I didn't speak enough french and they didn't speak enough english to get the point across so one of them brushed a handful of snow off the roof and did a gaelic shrug. I understood that and they went off happy once I'd taken it all off.
Lucky they caught me early because I was just about to start flooring it and getting the most out of the four wheel drive.
I've had a windscreen crack from falling snow/ice from cars in front of me.
I warm the car up for 5 minutes to clear the windows but I'd never considered the roof. Actually I did last week when it all came through the leaky sunroof(?) as it melted. There again it's the first time my 6 year old daughter has seen 'proper' snow. So we're not exactly used to it.
I took all mine off before I drove it last week - but then it's easy to get it off a Puma....
