I have to drive to Stockport this afternoon, would normally go cross country A1 to Newark - Mansfield - Chesterfield - Buxton - A6 Stockport, but given the likely weather issues would I be better going up the M6/ M60 or the A1/M62?
Any snow reports from those in the north would be appreciated.

The M1 & M62 are pretty empty todayso my be quicker going that way?

A6 here (Belper) is pretty dodgy still - it is open, but people driving very slow. I imagine it is as bad near Buxton also, as that is slightly more into the hills than us.
