Worth it? Good fun/vibe etc? I know theres a nice micro brewery there?
Hawkshead Brewery, and beer hall. Eagle and Child is good for a pint. The Watermill Inn at Ings (short stagger down the road) is also good... think they have a micro brewery too.
I like Stavely - trying to engineer moving there from Ulverston in the next couple of years if I can pull it off....
If looking for metro-chique, then no. The Eagle and Child was always a nice pub. Kendal's just up the road.
Oh - the Watermill has a stupid number of beers on usually. Between there and the Hawkshead Beer Hall you pretty much have a mini-beer festival all year around!
To earn that pint, you really need to ride The Three Passes, a classic lakeland ride...

You mean Staveley! mmm, looked at possibly living there when I moved up to the Lakes very pricey, after being the Postman for the village for the last 18 months glad I stuck with Kendal! Very close knit community with lots of notfromroundhere people living there. Eagleand child for booze food and digs, Thebrewery is ok,quite soulless though unless there is some music/band playing. Great base for exploring the Lakes on bike with a bike/bus running through the village!
Lived in Staveley for 28 years, rich is right about the notfromroundhere vibe. It does exist, but can be avoided. Don't live there now, and although I miss nipping in the eagle for a pint with mates, it's nice not having every bugger know what your up to!
Still a great place to live though.
