Got a flat dinner plate style lock on my shed and iv lost the key 🙁 no spare. It's made by sterling and I don't have an angle grinder just a drill. I'm planing to drill the lock out but not shore if that will work? Your know leg on subject let me know thanks

Tried this once. There was almost nothing left of the lock by the time it opened, and it took ages. I would recommend a hack saw over a drill.

Are you off or on shore ? dont plane the lock without adequate eye protection, be careful.

They're one of the few locks that the local scrotes don't touch on our farm buildings, they always go through the hasp rather than the lock.

if youre on wirral or chester i have a large bolt cutter, cutting ythe hasp is always easier though

Ah yes, because the typical STW reader is haunting this forum looking for advice on how to drill locks.

I'm sure you probably can drill it out with a 5mm bit, but if you don't know, then don't post.
