Just looking for some guidance- fitness test tomorrow for full time firefighter role. Interviews have been done, medical and fitness tomorrow with a view to starting in January.

We've been told to take gym kit and I am currently thinking I will clean shave (I would prefer not to but its not a sticking point) and go in smart- but is this required/expected? At interview there was one guy in jeans and t-shirt and the rest of us were all pretty smartly dressed but I'm aware that these assessments are of a different nature..

Thanks in advance.

Go clean shaven and smartly dressed. No football kits. Seen some right bags o shite turn up recently at the training school.

Good luck, Is it for SFRS?

(28 and a bit yrs in FS, 400 days to go)

As bruneep said, turn up smart with gear to change into. When I did mine 14 year ago it was an interview / fitness test day and some people turned up in trackies with no smart outfit for the interview! Be punctual too, I saw people turned away 2 seconds after the door closed to start the day.

Edit, and be clean shaven, you'll be expected to be clean shaven at work every day so they will want to see you make the effort on the day too.

Good luck mate, fitness test isn't too bad as far as I know, more to weed out the people who do zero exercise but somehow manage to not look like it.
