Popped out at lunchtime to do the weekly shop.

Stuffed some money - might have been £70 - in my pocket and not my wallet as I headed out. 20minutes later gone.

I never loose things. Well never for any time but this has definitely gone.

Drat & Blast indeed.

Today was going well up until that point .....

Hate that feeling. Nevermind. Hopefully someone deserving of it will find it.

On a related note, I found £80 lying on the ground at Waterloo in the run up to Christmas, en route to my train home. On picking it up, I spotted a copper standing mere feet away from me. So, I approached him and said, "I've just found this" and handed it to him. (Wondering, secretly if it might be some sort of sting!).

He took a while, then explained that normally, as this was 'lost property', it would be handed back in, but as there'd be no way that anyone could rightfully claim it as theirs...."Honesty's the best policy here, so I reckon it's finders keepers. Here you go", and handed it back to me.

Stopped at the local wine shop en route home and treated myself! 🙂

How on earth did you manage to carry 16 bottles of wine?

Like I say, hopefully someone deserving of it will find it. 😉

In fairness, you were honest and got rewarded.

...up 12 flights of stairs, or have they fixed the lift at last?

That's why I always write a return address on my banknotes. That way they can be returned if anyone finds them 🙂

I lost my wallet between Christmas and New Year. It had cash cards, credit cards, driving licence, £60 in notes and a few quid in coins plus my lucky johnny in it. I really hoped someone would hand it in, even minus the cash would have been fine. But nope, it has never been seen again 🙁

Many years ago I went down to Bristol to buy a jacket I'd seen, a down one, cost £100, which was a lot of money thirty-odd years ago. Got to the shop, money missing. You can guess how crushed I felt at that point. 🙁
