I’m fairly fat (bmi of 30) asthmatic & almost 50 I’ve always been very active; cycle to work roughly 4 out of 6 days for the last 19 years, walked & ran (combined) on average 14000 steps per day for the past 5 years (probably for last 30 years but only had a garmin for 5 years). My average resting heart rate is 46 bpm.
When I had my last Asthma review I was told my blood pressure was borderline high (I wasn’t told the figure, or I’ve forgot). Around the same time I had my annual work medical & it took 20 mins of sitting & relaxing before my BP went down enough to pass.
As a result my GP wanted me to have a 24hr BPM fitted, but when it finally came my turn the whole Coronavirus thing had kicked off so this type of service has ceased at my local surgery. I was then asked to monitor my own BP am & pm for 2 weeks.
Please could someone explain the following:
In the morning I’m practically flatline with a low pulse and reasonably low BP (47-53bpm & average of 120/77 BP) but in the evening it can be up to 145/99 and pulse of 60+. Is this normal (all figures are averages of 3 readings and can be after all my food for the day, so includes with a bit of alcohol but not much, maybe 2-3 units of whisky).
Also, when I take my BP I’ve noticed that if my resting pulse is low, my blood pressure reads high, but if my blood pressure reads low I see that my pulse has gone up. What is going on here?

You're having 2 or 3 units of whisky every night and don't think that's "much"? If I was concerned about my BP I'd be concentrating on that rather than measuring it.

Depends what else he's drinking, if that's all he drinks it's under gov limits.

I don’t drink anything else, and no it’s not every night either. I was just saying that the BP readings, which are averages, also include the evenings when I do have a drink.
With that in mind I’ve noticed my BP is up marginally as is my pulse on the nights I’ve had a drink.

I can see very clearly from my Garmin the days when I've had a drink the night before, my resting HR is at least 10 higher.
If you're worried about it I'd suggest a couple of weeks without that drink, and see what results you get. Maybe keep a note of what you've been doing and eating, too - see if you can spot any patterns. Also not a doctor 🙂
Try stopping the whisky and eating healthy leaves for Just 3 days, making sure you get 8hrs sleep a night and staying hydrated. Track this and keep it up religiously just for three days, then track your BP a few times a day while keeping up your step count.
From a red meat eating, whisky loving guy here you will be amazed at the difference this can make in such a short time.
If it doesn’t you will likely get put on meds to bring you down to at or under 120/80 at all times of day.
Nothing to worry about unless you ignore it long term. Lifestyle change doesn’t mean teetotal but drinking every day will likely have to be scaled bk. just go premium so you can’t afford to drink more 🙂
Just had a month off any type of booze & there was no noticeable difference. That said, I’ve been off work the last week with suspected Coronavirus, which has turned out to be either Streptococcus or tonsillitis. Having had neither previously I don’t know the difference from a “how it feels” point of view. Whichever it is it seems to be slowly responding to antibiotics.

145/99 seams high, but is that taken after 5 min resting, which is the gold standard for measuring blood pressure apparently.

How soon after eating are you measuring your BP? I seem to remember reading that your BP does go up just after eating for an hour or two. If you are regularly up at 145/99, you do probably need either lifestyle changes or meds.
I've had high blood pressure all my life but wasn't really bothered about it until my mid-40s when the doctor basically forced me on to meds (tried lifestyle changes but that didn't work really). I must admit, I detest the impact the drugs have but better that than brown bread.
I also work constantly changing shifts, which has a massive impact on my sleeping patterns. e.g. 2 days, 2 Afters, 2 nights then 4 days off (usually); this is with at least 2x12hr shifts per week.
Illness, stress, lack of sleep will all make it rise too.
Really got to align everything which is harder said than done.
If you think 5-10 things will make it rise. You are 25 over norm so:
Sleep: 2-5
Alcohol: 2-5
Stress 2-5
Health / illness: 2-5
Sugar content: 2-5
Caffeine: 2-5
Overall diet: 2-5
Overweight: 2-5
Calorie intake / calorie quality (no fried food): 2-5
