Hi all
I found a rather expensive down jacket in a stuff sac on the summit of High Crag just before 6pm last night (Sunday 24th March).
I did not see any bikers out yesterday on the Buttermere Fells but if it was you or someone you know, please get in touch as it would be lovely to reunite it with its owner. I tried Cumbria Police but they only do lost and found for things like passports and credit cards now. I guess that is one way to cut paperwork.

Might be worth getting in touch with the local mountain rescue team, they would probably have contacts with various local clubs who could put the word out. Might be worth also putting word out through the various social media channels, give a vague description of the item, mainly just its colour, and where you found it.
Most likely way of disseminating info that will reach the maximum possible audience. Probably more likely a walker than a biker, tbh.
Try UKC- active climbing/hill going forum, or there’s a Facebook page something like Lost and Found in the Lake District which may reach more folk?
