I'm driving over to France via Dover (to Dunkirk) on Friday - anyone been recently? Hints and tips to avoid delays/stress.

Out on a 0600 ferry so hoping to avoid road issues.

Thanks

went a couple of weeks ago, totally fine. Avoided the M20, the A2/M2 was clear. Got an early morning sailing which is probably best to avoid the queues. Arrived at 7.00, was on the ferry by 7.30.

Coming back also had no issues.

Went a few weeks ago when there were reported issues but arrived early so got on an earlier crossing. Same on return journey. It was to Calais not Dunkirk though

Sounds fine - missing the M20 seems sound advice

No issues at all- was there last week.

The M20 is regularly shut with lorries for the tunnel so use the M2/A2, straight to the port!
