I need a bit of help, I am trying to replace the chime on my doorbell which is a Nest camera jobbie (so I can watch my next stolen bike dissapear off down the drive). I have managed to wire up the bell and all is working but the chime has never worked properly, it tries to make a noise but sounds like its underwater so I thought I'd replace it.

The current wiring looks like this:

The diagram for the new bell shows 2 options for connecting to the transformer/next bell.

I am assuming that I need the one on the right? Do the pair of wires go into the 8/12v terminal and if so how do I work out which is which on the other 2?

looks like the chime's not working because that wire's impeding it. the black metals bars either side are the two nots of the chime, the hammer is in the box across the middle. You shouid make sure the wire is not near the bar and it should ring out just fine

Is the white thing with the sticker on a direct replacement for the “chime” , ie is it a speaker ? If so then can you peel off the bit the says “ follow the instructions in the nest app “
It might be blocking the bit where the noise comes out of

Do you mean the bit with the tab on it designed specifically to peel it off? 🙂

I have been looking at getting a video doorbell and have seen the Google nest.

Nbt has it.

I think the puck thing is only there to feed the voltage to the doorbell camera and doesn't replace the chime in any way.
