My mum worked in the Palitoy factory assembling those models for a few years, she disposed of a fair few and I broke a couple 😥
What sort of tosser pays £3k for a star wars figure they'll never even play with?
Have they never SEEN Toy Story 2?

Oh yes. I have always felt that way after seeing unopened, unloved toys.
My beloved dog chewed the feet off my Luke Skywalker figure, and all that meant to me is that he spent a good deal more time piloting his landspeeder.
Better that than a package anyday!

The smell of those toys as you opened the packet is a firm memory in my childhood. I have the expensive Luke Skywalker somewhere in the attic of my fathers house. It's not in a packet 🙂

I used that smell at a wine tasting and won a prize.

🙂
When I was growing up I had a Beatles Yellow Submarine and a 007 Aston with the ejector seat and bits. Both battered and broken. Both worth a fortune if boxed and unused, last time I noticed. 🙁
My stepdad collected dinky toys when I was a kid... Hundreds of brand new beautiful toy cars in little presentation packs in the attic..
Beautiful beautiful things.. If I dared sneak up for a peak without him to chaperone me my face would be sore for a week..
It was always worth it though 🙂
I dunno if he's still got them..
