Nice strong cheddar with lemon curd in a sandwich.
Feel free to add your own odd combos

It sounds like a fantastic idea. Have you considered adding anchovies too?

Well I thought the lemon in the lemon curd would combine nicely with the fish in the anchovies 💡

No salad cream?

When someone suggested manchego covered in honey I thought it sounded like a crime against cheese (which in my opinion should be a hanging offence)

Until I tried it

Bloody hell, it’s good!!!

I wouldn't recommend eating one while hanging the washing out

Add a dab of miso or a wasabi smear for a far eastern version.

I do hope that's not a euphemism

@TheFlyingOx I don't trust a man who cuts his chips never mind puts chocolate on them.

Actually peanutbutter and cheddar work very well together.

Exactly this. Cheese on a hot cross bun slightly toasted so the cheese is partially melted is amazing!! Chilli jam makes it even better.

I don't like marmalade  - unless its in a cheese sandwich - in which case its delicious

I think the combo I'm most evangelical about but nobody ever seems tempted to try is a sort of croque monsieur pan fried eggy bread sandwich filled with gruyere, ham, banana and creme fraise. Tastes so good I often don't sit down - eat it straight out of the pan standing in front of the stove

Not tried with lemon curd, not sure, but proof is the eating. On the other hand

Cheddar (mature, obvs) in a hot cross bun. Optional naga chilli marmalade

Oh yes.

Or teacakes.

Or fruit cake.

Just get the little ones, then.

Strawberry jam + cheese FTW!

I now have to try both marmalade and strawberry jam.
The sweet/savoury contrast of tastes are often found in Indian food are a testament to how this works.

Controversially I think the sweet, jammy toppings like lemon curd go better with a soft, creamy cheese like a brie or cambozola, and tart, tangy pickles like Branston's goes better with the firmer, sharper cheeses like a mature, crunchy cheddar. Omg I'm getting hungry writing this!

I’m borderline addicted to peanut butter, natural yoghurt and honey.

Controversially I think the sweet, jammy toppings like lemon curd go better with a soft, creamy cheese like a brie or cambozola,

in Sardinia there’s a dessert that is a massive ricotta ravioli fried and drizzled in honey.

Literally everything suggested in here If I haven’t already tried it, I would give it a go. But this… THIS:

Squirt of HP sauce in your morning cup of tea, sets you up for the day………….

What fresh hell be this!?! Too much man, you did too much.

(*Feels obliged to try it out. Maybe on the kids first because it still sounds like a sick joke.*)

Peanut butter goes with everything but I've been accused of being weird for eating peanut butter and lettuce sandwiches. Adding sweet chilli sauce is good too.
