just be-aware that is you live in the middle of no-where (with crap mobile signals) then it's doubtful that the dongle will work.. as my friend found out after he bought one...

and if you have a mobile signal - even a good one - doesnt mean it will work well either ....

as my missus found out in invergordon !

I found it easier to just use my phone as a modem and it was cheaper to get a data tariff wrapped up into my monthly bill (shouldnt; cost much mroe if you pick the right tariff).

and at least you can check for a signal before you commit.

Thinking of selling a Vodafone dongle...we moved house and used it whilst our broadband provide got their act together but thats sorted now. Worked really well...we got the Vodafone because any credit would remain for 6 months unlike with other providers.

I went through 3 networks (3, O2 and Orange) before finally trying vodafone which works for me in Taunton.

Bought all the dongles from ASDA and they had no problems with me taking them back and swapping for another one.

cheers lads - my problem is where I'm moving to is notorious for variable reception - the move is a temporary measure so I won't want the faff of signing for a landline etc. Think I'll wait until I get there...
