A lost art although I just attacked a piece of dowel with a Stanley knife so hardly the most skilled effort. Did the job though (stopped a fence panel rattling in the wind)

I like a bit of whittling. I’m very good at turning bigger sticks into smaller sticks, with lots of chips of wood everywhere. Much to the amusement and bemusement of my family 😂.

Been carving my grandson's head in limewood. Babies are quite a challenge.

i like a whittle

unfortunately the rest of the family don't, as it invariably ends up with a lot of blood everywhere. I've been specifically banned to relieve pressure on the NHS.

Theres a tool called 'Flexcut' for whittling and all.

The tool featured is about £160, which isn't cheap for a bit of whittling, but you'll spend that on a single brake and not even think twice. Put some bits up on ebay, and that pays for it.

They do small sets too, single blades to a standard handle, and a myriad of cutters to fit it, usually cheap individually so easy to build up a more individual set.

If you're looking to buy bigger weapons of destruction, my favourite makers are Ashley Iles.

I have a few mora knives. They’re good quality and cheap - certainly I can’t blame my whittling on the knives.
