Does your come riding with you? Not on a bike, that would be silly, but will he stick with you on a ride without exploring the front wheel with his nose?

However I recommend caution in naming dog's after footballer's. I had a large number of clients with Staffie's called Rooney who were most definitely not Man U fans for a while. Admittedly Managers are a bit safer but preferably dead ones eg Shankly

I do take them riding sometimes, though not as much now because they're nine and are a bit stiff afterwards. It's mostly running with them now.
Riding with a dog unless it's perfectly behaved is a bit of a compromise because you're constantly having to look out for livestock, roads, people, other dogs etc. on top of riding your bike. It's good fun, but not quite the carefree experience some videos would have you believe. One of mine likes to run 20 yards behind, the other regards it as a personal insult if you overtake her, so there's lots of shouting involved.
