Can't get any deliveries so going to do the clock and collect.

From memory there are just 2 little bays they use in normal times.

I'm assuming this is different now? Anyone doing their shopping via click and collect at asda at the moment, how does it all work with the social distancing and all now?

Thanks guys.

Did my first Asda click and collect today

Download the app and sign in.

Tell the app you're on your way and allow location services to be used by it.

Arrive at the collection point

They'll bring your shopping out in crates.

You transfer the contents from the crate to your bags that you've brought with you

Drive off

Dead easy

Aye, take some bags just in case, though in my store we're bagging it all for click and collect as well as home delivery. And you won't even have to get out of the car if you don't want to, just tell them to load it in the boot for you. Easy peasy.

EDIT Thats a fancy system up there, I like the look of that.

Remember to post back with the comical substitutions you end up with.

How do you know he’s bought some comics?

I find it easier to take tubs/boxes for putting the shopping in and unloading once home. That's pre-corona though.

Checks guys! Don't think they have the fancy arrangement in the picture above unless it's been installed since the virus which is unlikely I guess. App all installed on phone.

As always, thanks for the info!

expect perishables to be close to their sell by date.
expect substitutes to be inappropriate
if they hve lockers you will need your order number , and something to hold the locker door open while you put half your stuff in the car

I think you’re local to me. If you’re using the one at the top of bluebell hill then it will be as BoardinBob describes. No fancy stuff.

TBF that was the case with asda long before CV19...

we had 5 substitions last night. All were like for like, apart from the prawns which we got slightly less of.... but the rest were straight swaps for what we ordered.

I tried ASDA online shopping once then gave up - the website is so unintuitive it's unbelievable. ASDA, along with Ocado/Morrisons need to learn from Sainsbury's and Tesco.

My first click and collect last week from ASDA was very easy. Everything bagged, subs better than original. Any subs not suitable you ask for a refund and keep the sub.

We used to do Asda home delivery every week for years. Then the madness of Covid 19 came along and we couldn’t get a delivery slot. Now it’s back to trudging around the supermarket doing the weekly shop. We just drive round them to find one without a queue and go there. It was Tesco’s turn yesterday boy that was expensive, my debit card is still lying down in a darkened drawer.
