Weird topic I know.

I was out with the dog and called in for a pint at a dog friendly pub, as you do.

So I was on my own and the pub was quite busy, some lairy people were there doing a pub crawl or stag do or something, so when nature called I took the dog to the loo with me.

Some guy in there made a comment that it was discusting, and not fair on the dog.. Bear in mind this is a 6 month old puppy an wasn't going to just leave him in the bar. And said puppy licks other dogs bums and eats his own poop occasionally.

Is it unreasonable to take a dog into a pub toilet? I wouldn't think so.

"I took the dog to the loo with me. Some guy in there made a comment"

You don't talk to strangers in the gents.

That's rule number two before we even approach urinal choice etiquette.

Should have boxed his ears as a lesson.

As long as the dog flushes after then there’s no problem.

It's a boy dog for clarification hahah!

I retorted back that he eats shit so the smell of wee won't bother him.

I don't think he could think of a come back for that so that was the end of the conversation lol!

“Depends on the sex surely?”

Sounds like the sex was pretty tawdry.

Bet bloke he didn’t wash his hands when he left.

Anyway as a rider of bike on road  I’m now immune to the random proclamations and wisdom of random strangers.

A cheery STFU or FO should suffice in these circumstances 🙂

TBH thou I’m with sbob on rule number 2 on talking to strangers in toilets 🙂 Unless they are the opposite sex.

I'm glad there is the "s" in the thread title or it could have easily been misunderstood

I was in a local brewery taphouse last night and being dog friendly a old English collie was wandering round, ive never seen an owner look so shocked as when the dog started circling and laid a few lengths on the floor..

i didn’t fancy a pale ale and so the 1/3 pint of 10.9% porter made me laugh out extremely loud..

It’s actually not something I’ve considered before and actually not something you see a lot of. I felt pretty strange visiting a campsite loo with my dog once before never mind a semi civilised toilet. Having said that I don’t see the guys issue, your dog is probably much cleaner than him and besides I don’t like being in a pub alone myself, never mind leaving my dog unattended in one!
