Been meaning to ask for a while, since we have so many dog owners I'm sure someone has the answer.
We need a bag, nothing fancy just something that can hold a roll of bags, a wee bottle of sanitiser (just in case) and a small bag of treats. And most importantly, the inevitable bag of fresh crap. Removable waterproof (or at least seepage resistant) liner would be ideal. As would a couple of clips on the outside for carrying his muzzle or a bowl if needed. Not interested in anything else, he has zero interest in toys, lead stays on him at all times and we don't want to be carrying a load of crap we don't need.
Had a look at Barking Bags but too biga, this looks nearly right but isn't quite there (tight fit for bags, non removable liner)
Happy to pay a reasonable price for quality.
Get a bum bag which you can also use out on the Bike like a Camelbak podium flow
Owned dogs all my life yet I never realised there was such a need for a specific bag to contain dog shit and treats-I used my everyday carry crumpler wonder weenie messenger bag for such stuff (dog shit bags, double bagged of course). If you allow me to ask, why do you feel the need to tether your dog to a lead at all times?, surely one of the joys of dog ownership is the ability to let it run free whilst being able to call to heel with a single command, perhaps your dog needs training, not trying to be sarky but genuinely perplexed at why a lead at all times?
(owner of Toby (sadly passed last November due to tumour) whom I could trust implicitly to follow my heel or any issued command whether that be walking through a strange busy city or any area of the countryside)
genuinely perplexed at why a lead at all times?
Sometimes on walks you end up in an enclosure/field with livestock and I’d rather not be chased by a man with a gun.
Mrs DB has a little neoprene poo-pouch on the belt of he bumbag - Dicky I think - keeps the squidgy stuff off everything else
Mostly just use coat/trouser pockets but, in summer when not wearing coats, Decathlon fold-up bumbag here...big enough for poo bags, retractable lead, treats etc. £3.99 and 3 different colours....

Depends what sort of dogs you have. If you have 1.8kg dogs that other dogs would grab in their mouth like toys if left to run around a lead makes sense. I would not count one of the joys of dog ownership being picking up your mangled dog off the floor after a big dog attacked it...
Wife uses Barking Bags, and used to use a DOOG one but the mesh and plastic liner on that one wasn't very durable.
I use a smaller generic one from Amazon. Grey with an orange liner and orange paw print logo.
It's easier to have it all in one place so we can just grab the bag and go.
When running, I use an old low alpine bum bag and a zefal tool keg to store the fill bags in.
Maybe the need to carry a muzzle is a clue to the reason the dog is always on a lead. My sister in law has a dog that is a complete prick. Genuinely think it has ADHD or something, frankly they should keep it on a lead in the house as well as outside.
Anyway, when we look after a couple of dogs, I just use my cycling rucksack and clip poo bags to the outside of it rather than inside carry. We also use decent thick but biodegradable bags that won't leak.
I suggested in the coat thread, in true format suggest what you use, our dog is about 37kg, always need a minimum of 3 poo bags on a walk garantted to fill 2, plus toys at 16 months he still needs lots of play.
I particularly like separate mesh pockets for carrying afforementioned business. They are run by dog people even delivered mine as we were close as I bought one for my wife for her birthday and stock was low. (I know shes lucky girl).
We use an old Billabong bag which I used to use on holiday for camera, wallet etc, looks quite like one of those Barking Bags but cost significantly less. If you have a TK MAXX near that would be the place to look, for something similar without the dog tax.
Fur kicks thing from Amazon.
Snack pouch, bag roll dispenser thingy, zip pocket, mesh, clips, strap for shoulder or waist and belt clip.
We can get lead, used bags, tick removers, keys, sanitiser all in.
Other half will use this when taking boy dog onto the trails too and it works well.
The only one we've had that's lasted and still going after a couple of years of daily abuse

G/f bought one of theses, which I initially scoffed at Duck soup Neoskin
It’s Not cheap & doesn’t have space for treats (their seperate treat bag is excellent) but not having to hold a filled dog poo bag in your hand, as you walk brilliant. The bag is totally sealed, so you forget you’ve popped a ‘filled bag’ in it.
If the dog wears a coat just stitch a small bag to the back of it.
Never even thought about taking a bag when walking the dogs. We have a like poo bag holder attached to one of the leads and if required I just then swing the now full bag on my finger like a dog walker’s badge of honour.
Once they’re off the leads I just carry said leads or stick them in my pocket. Ditto treats, just carry in pocket. Never seen the need to take anything else with me 🙂
For the bags I use one of those clip holders that attach to the lead to dispense them. Other stuff just goes in my pockets.
why do you feel the need to tether your dog to a lead at all times?
I walk a retired racing greyhound. I've been warned that under no circumstances should he be allowed off the lead where there is the possibility of him seeing another dog. The example I was given, your at the beach, he is off the lead, in the distance there is a Yorkshire terrier. No matter how well trained he is, racing mode engaged, and well you can imagine the result. Not an experience I wish to see. Luckily he does get off the lead as I know some pretty remote places.
On another thread I was advised he may need a coat on whilst walking.
I was hoping to kill two birds with one stone with this one, can I get a jacket for the dog that has pockets and he can carry his own poo? Forgive my ignorance, I'm not an experienced dog person, I just walk him. So this may or may not be a good idea. Seems ok to me but willing to listen to more experienced owners opinions and thoughts.
Get one of those stem cell bags for the bike, and attach it to your belt
Okay, bum bags are a fair shout but my missus wears a long coat so it's not going to work for her, the attraction of a shoulder bag is either of us can just pick it up and go. The barking bags look good but were already discounted for being too big. That Fur Kicks bag is what I'm on about, would be nice if I could find the original that's obviously been ripped off as it's a good design but hey ho.
As for carrying a used bag, if that's your thing fine, personally I'd prefer not to as it can be too easy to snag it on some of the undergroth on the paths we walk and I've often found myself tempted to be "that dickhead" and stash it for the return leg (I haven't though).

I've seen harnesses that can do that (Julius K9) but obviously that doesn't work with a coat, would probably be a custom job. We have had similar thoughts but then you get to summer...

Because he's a rescued greyhound which makes him
a) very fast
b) very strong willed
c) 3 years late for training
d) the owner of a ridiculously strong prey drive
and as a result
e) not to be trusted not to spot a squirrel/pigeon/fly farting and disappear over the horizon chasing something to death (choose either party).
I see your point and would ordinarily agree but common consensus is that you can't really train that out of them so it's safer to just assume if it's not an enclosed area then they should be on a lead.

Nope, it's more for if we cross the high traffic school routes with the kids lunches spread across the pavements, his temperament ranges from friendly (other longs or puppies) to uninterested (the rest).
Whistle round my neck on a cord
Three poo bags in a pocket (every item of clothing I own seems to have three poo bags in the pockets)
Lead has a small karabiner clipped on and when not in use I just wear it over shoulder and under opposite arm. I also hang used poo bag off this krab if I need to carry them for a bit.
Never felt the need to carry anything else.
I don't carry a bag...
Poo bags (empty) in back pocket, small bag of treats in front pocket, dog lead worn jauntily around neck or over shoulder.
Full poo bags - carry them in free hand until suitable receptical found.
we don’t want to be carrying a load of crap we don’t need.
Very good.

Had to go over to you tube and find 'Fenton' still as funny as ever.
Because he’s a rescued greyhound which makes him...
I owe you an apology for the muzzle comment, greyhounds for all the reasons you outline is understandable. And nice one for giving an ex-racer a home. They are a breed I rather like myself.
Cheers for the explanation, yeah I see you have a very valid point and need to keep it on a lead for the sake of others (and fluffy bunnies), a mate has a similar breed, a humungous Scottish deerhound (33" to shoulder and 50kg), when "kai" gets up to speed its an awesome sight and I certainly wouldn't want to be chased by him.
Just ordered one of those barkinbags ones, looks ideal
I owe you an apology for the muzzle comment,
Absolutely no offence taken, we've quickly realised they come with their own preconceptions. Which is a shame as more people should be using them.
Cheers for the explanation
Again, no offence taken.
Squirrelking, long coat here, decathlon bum bag underneath. Unzip from the bottom for easy access.
Works for me.
Yesterday was a 4 bag walk. I was very grateful for it.

I think something like this look pretty handy - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00GGD10QI/ref=psdcmw_471452031_t3_B012AMUAHI
I have a cheap eBay copy of this that I use, it's not ideal as I often go for a treat and end up in the wrong section. It's also obviously not doggo specific.
