has anybody got shoes for their dog that they could recommend or avoid? We have some ruffwear grip trex but the pooch isn't to happy in them. They seem pretty stiff and tend to fall off unless they are really tight around the ankle. We had some cheap neoprene booties that worked but they wear through really quickly.

The ruffwear skyliner looked like it might be better, and also the neo pawz looked interesting - any one tried either?

Surely a lurcher would be 650b - only Great Danes, Pyrenean Mountain dogs etc really benefit from the handling characteristics of a 29" dog shoe...

Yeah 'dogs in high heels' rather unsurprisingly came up with some odd results.

Dog shoes? Shoes? For a dog? This is either a joke that I'm not getting or the world has finally gone totally batcrap crazy.

PS whatever shoes you get, make sure they match the dog handbag, pooches hate mismatched accessories.

It's the "does my bum look big in this" facial expression of the dog on the left that gets me. 😆

Would the new porn filter block search phrases like 'dogs in high heels' because its that kind of image that will scar kids for life!

Sometimes dogs have to wear booties because they have damaged or sore pads, or because they're going into an area with dodgy ground. Lots of service dogs in urban areas/disaster sites wear them whilst working.

ive been thinking of getting some for my old lab because her back legs are a bit wobbly now and she is sliding around on the wooden floors and keeps falling over. seemed like a cheaper option than getting carpets

Why would you need dog shoes for a lurcher, mine does very little but sleep!

Having said that I did have to cut some chewing gum off her foot yesterday

Having just googled, it appears you're serious. I'm amazed, your dog has special sift paws as an optional extra?

The clues in the op, the digs not happy in boots because, well, I'm sure you can work it out!

I looked into getting some for my lurcher when I got a contract which involved spending a good few months walking in remote Scottish mountains.

Most lurchers have very little protection around their ankles and paws compared to say, a lab. Hardly any flesh and a small amount of fine hair.

I didn't bother in the end and despite the heather bashing and spiky rocks, the dog had very few cuts and abrasions.

Why are you thinking about it btw? Might stop some of the urine extracting...

OK, If I can make my dog do that for my own personal amusement, I might get some after all. I take it all back.

Ive also looked into getting Ziva some, in fact I challenge any dog to mtb and therefore run as far and as long as she does the amount she does and not get cut pads from time to time. She has one atm in fact so is back to cr@p walks while they heal. So far I've resisted getting her some and do exactly what I would do if I was injured and just rest in the mean time. You might wanna check around sled dog forums as a lot of huskies etc have to wear them from running on the harsh snow and frost environments.

I'm looking for some for Dot. Teddy's ok, but she ALWAYS scuffs her stoppers and cuts her pads. Her little paws are like the skin on my hands, soft and pink. I thought 10 months of walking her on roads/tracks etc would harden her feet but no.

Maybe try these guys?

The expression on that dog’s face so says: OK, OK I’ll wear the shoes and pose for the photo ... but next time we go walkies I am sooo rolling in poo

I got ours some ruffwear boots as trail centre surfaces make her pads blister and bleed. They're really well made but her feet are so thin that she throws them off all the time. I've been looking at their socks which look cool but I'm a little worried that she'll overheat as their pads are one of the few places that sweat.

I ordered shoes for my parents little happy dog. They only sent one shoe and even that wasn't any good. It was a Shitshu.

Oh please, I'm sure that was a very good post, but really, it was to much, maybe!

Bravo!
