So, Flo (miniature labradoodle), is just over one yr old. We have had her since she was 8 weeks old. Fully house trained but for some reason, even if I speak to her in the most friendly, happy tone, and call her to me she comes and then sits in a wee'ing style and leaks/pees a little puddle.
I cant work out why this may be. I am not aggressive to her and even the friendliest manner doesn't seem to help. It's only for me she does this. Mrs R can tell her off and she holds it in.
Not sure what to do about it to be honest and now a bit more concerned as we have just had a carpet down in the lounge so I can't speak to her in there in case she leaks....
Any serious advice appreciated.

its called submissive pee and basically a sign she is happy to be getting attention from you, the only real way to get it under control is pretty much ignore it and don't make any kind of fuss when it happens

She is obviously so excited to see you that it makes her leak!

There's a lady round the corner. She has this lovely little dog, a Shui Tzu I think. It's so friendly.

Anyway, it's got a thing about blokes. No idea if it's scared or likes us but it pisses everywhere when in comes in contact with one. We meet her in the street with the dog, my wife coos and the dog rolls over on its back, she strokes its tummy, I coo and it rolls over on its back, I rub its tummy and it pisses all over my hand.

My son says it did the same to him and the lady assures us, it never pisses on a lady.

She's pleased....seriously, our little Jack Russell boy dog would spin round in a circle when the better half came home from work and let out an adorable arc of pee....he grew out of it thankfully, was quite funny though.

an adorable arc of pee...

hence the phrase;

"Isn't the smell of our wee soaked and rotting carpets and furniture just adorable?"

😉

Yes, submissive pee. Our BT bitch did the same up to over a year old. We learned to greet her calmly so she had it under control with us. However, some friends and neighbours would greet her very excitedly and and squeal her name so she'd still do it with them for a while. Don't sweat it too much, she'll most likely grow out of it.

To be honest, since I turned forty, it happens to me sometimes.
