Owen Paterson, former Tory MP for North Shrops, and eventually resigned/pushed/dismissed in Bo-Jo's day for lobbying 'irregularities' is taking his case to the European Court of Human Rights. Despite the fact that he is/was a rampant EU Leaver, and had previously campaigned to replace said court. BBC article An unbelievable sense of entitlement coupled to a total absence of irony awareness, or what?

I have no time for that man whatsoever. But taking your case to the highest suitable court in your jurisdiction isn't really 'irony'.

I hope his bringing this case take some more cronies down with him though. Is anyone going to step forward to support him?

Pwerhaps not irony but certainly rank hypocrisy given he wants the Uk to withdraw from the ECHR and thus the jurisdiction of the court. so he wants to deny others the opportunity to do what he is doing

Can we not just laugh at idiots spending huge wedges of money on legal fees for cases they’ve absolutely no hope of winning, purely due to their monstrous ego’s and aforementioned sense of entitlement.?

This could end up right up there with Jamie Vardy’s missus and that was absolutely ****ing hilarious! 😂

This is your daily reminder that the ECHR is not an EU institution.

Its not exactly having the courage of his convictions though is it?
Surely he should stand true to the cause and refuse to have anything to do with such an organisation.

Correct but Patterson wanted us to withdraw from the ECHR and thus the european court would have no jurisdiction in the UK

To quote an idiot.

"Much of the problematical immigration into this country stems not just from the EU but from the European convention of human rights. This is exacerbated by the rulings of judges in the court at Strasbourg and by our own UK courts implementing the Human Rights Act. Repeal of the HRA and adoption of new bill of rights, breaking free from the ECHR"

I guess he might have wanted to keep protection for himself in this new bill of rights.
