Having a clothes sort out.

Just found some white ankle socks, unworn but bought when they were last in fashion....must be about 25 years old.

Surely due a comeback?

Perhaps I could sell them as genuine retro?

What goes around comes around. Fashion is no different, styles get recycled with slight changes to ‘freshen them up’.

Come on Grandad, you should be wearing your white socks with your Adidas sliders.

there's usually a different take on fashion when it comes around again. Always best to get classic designs.

No sliders, sadly. I do have some Samba Super and a pair of Superstar though....
Pink Crocs ok?

And yes, I am a grandad, which I assume means I get a free fashion pass?

Some stuff like Adidas tracksuits still sell well as retro. They sell second hand items for high prices at Camden market.

Hmm, a codpiece...I thought they were called a DracPad these days?

Does Tena for Men count?

As any North Eastener would vouch, white socks and white trainers never went out of fashion.

Oi!

White trainers are a fashion essential.

Obviously, nothing says 'Burglar' more than a pair of Reebok Classic/Workout, but everyone needs a pair of Superstar. If they were good enough for Jam Master Jay, they're good enough for you.

everything comes back in fashion - just in time for you being too old to be able to pull of wearing it anymore.

I can't see the sumptuary laws being reinstated, even after Brexit, so I might as well chuck this ruff, peascod and bombast in the charity.

Slack head angles have come back into fashion from the late 1920s and early 1930s.

I wonder if future riders will think it's a bloody horrible idea like we did in the 1950s onwards.

Does everything come back in fashion?

Not music and passion.

They never went out.

I own a drapecoat jacket. ( no I am not that old) Never been back in fashion as far as I can tell since the 50s. a few bands wore them in the 70s but no one on the street.

I saw a reasonably hip young gentleman wearing a carpet coat on the train this evening, so I think the answer is yes.

I bet the elastic in your socks has gone.

It would be nice to take a trip back to the 50s with Fender's best selling current guitar, a Kemper and junior's home studio for Hank Marvin to try. The Kemper and home studio to show how much progress has been made and the Stratocaster to show no progress has been made at all.

I'm struggling to think of a fashion that hasn't been around 2 or 3 times in my lifetime.

Of course there's a world of difference between fashion and style.

I refuse to believe anyone will ever dress like Dave Hill again. This is exactly how I remeber them in 72 except Noddy was playing a black Telecaster

Are 26" wheels back in yet!

I saw some school kids today with white socks on and wondered if it was coming back

White socks are all the fashion now with trousers that are a few inches too short to show them off apparently. That's what I was told when I asked my mates son if he'd grown a lot recently and couldn't afford new trousers.

I'm just waiting for Reebok pumps, tracksuit bottoms with full length poppers, fluorescent yellow Velcro wallets, global hypercolour t shirts and backstreet boys haircuts and it'll be just like when I was at school.

You do only have to look on the high street today to see girlsmin high waisted ripped at the knee jeans, complete with embroidered flowers and cropped tops to figure it’s 1984 all over again.

I don’t think Nike Airs have ever gone out of style, they seem to pop up every other year in thier multicoloured garb.

I suspect you won't have to wait to long for this, they'll be back in under a year.
