If so, read this, then you should bin it and use Chrome.

I love it, but it only has 14 hours to save the Earth.

chrome still has flash in it, you just need to allow it, it's been turned off by default sincelast year sometime(if I remember right). you can turn it on or better you can add specific websites in the settings>advanced>pivacy&security>contentsettings>flash.

I binned Flash years ago and never looked back.  That and Java were at the time the single two biggest points of injection for malware, by a country mile.  (These days it's email-borne attacks, responsible for something like 75% of all infections.)

I use flash. Nice fun games on AddictingGames and Miniclip. All sorts of websites still use it, you'd need your head deep in the sand to not see that. If it's that big a deal why is Windows allowing it to run? Oh and the chances of anyone sending me an unsolicited Excel spreadsheet and me opening it are about double the chance of me beating Froome in Paris.

To be fair, midlife, windows has hardly had a stellar record when it comes to security

Not had Flash installed for five years. Can’t say I’ve suffered. To be honest, I can’t remember anything at all asking for it for years now.

Yep, I guess I'm a newbie having only been using computers since PDP11s were a thing, and using only basic security (usually free), I don't think I've lost more than a few hours productivity or lost any money through viruses, malware, phishing or other bollox. Most security worries are due to the idiots running the systems. Computers will always be leaky, because systems, hardware and software will always be rushed and corners cut, so you just have to act accordingly.

Rachel, you could try the current Renault website for starters.

Nice fun games on AddictingGames and Miniclip.

Any site calling itself "addicting" would immediately be a barrier to entry for me.

All sorts of websites still use it, you’d need your head deep in the sand to not see that.

I've not seen a site I care about require Flash in years.

To be fair, midlife, windows has hardly had a stellar record when it comes to security

Only if you're still living in the 90s.

I don't have Flash on my home PC but it's mandatory on my work laptop as some internal stuff relies on it - even worse is we're not supposed to use any browser other than IE11 (although many of us do). Flash should have been killed off years ago, sadly it will probably still be around for years to come.
