Running Paperport v14 on a Win7 machine. It is as flaky as....a really flaky thing and crashes all the time. Work has ground to a halt here and I need to get back up and running asap.

Can anyone recommend a stable alternative?

http://www.cognidox.com/

I don't use it myself, but I know several people who do, all of whom seem pretty happy with it.

We have Cognidox at work and I really can't stand it. We also have SharePoint which is far superior, although few use it as our ISO9001 nazi loves Cognidix.

Sharepoint free version works remarkably well.

for a proper DMS then try FirstPoint from CSC

it's a nicely scaled down version of their all whizz-bang FirstDoc solution

I'd go with sharepoint, far more scalable than most solutions.

Sharepoint was hideous at the last place I worked, but then it was being used as an alternative to Confluence (which is awesome).
