Or is it one of those things that you buy cos it sounds like a good idea then you never end up standing?
I'm WFHing, and I often feel like standing - but would I really use it all that much?
Every day without fail. I also have one at the office and use that one regularly too.
Yes. Try to stand as much of the day as I can. Put it up first thing and it's normally mid/late afternoon before I sit.
I still use mine a fair amount after two years.
Had one at the office pre Covid.
Never stood up.
Without question.
Bad back if sit within days. Had it 4 years.
It's basically solved my 2 decade chronic back pain.
Yes, every time I'm using it...
Using it now
Only had it since June but yes everyday
Yes, although since breaking my back I've had a humanscale freedom chair which is unbelievably good so stand less. Desk was cheaper.

Yes - I tend to sit down to do actual work with typing and stand up when on zoom calls. Bit of both eases my back aches / pains.
I was lucky work bought both the sit- stand desk thing (it sits on top of a normal desk - ergotron workfit TL) and a new chair (Orangebox Spira- amazingly comfy) for my home office when my back flared up recently.

Hmm, that might be ideal for me. Does it go up and down?
It's height adjustable probably 15-20cm range but not a sit/stand desk
It's now retired due to the sit/stand desk
I use one. Tend to use it less on days i've cycled to work. Sometimes i find standing up hurts my lower back though so i tend to sit down for relief.
Also interested in the idea.
Do you need a full on uppy downy desk or are the ones that sit on top of a normal desk OK or just a cheap copy cat?
The ones that sit on top are better than nothing if you do mostly meetings but can get in the way if you sit down to work. The ones I've seen are pretty flexible where the keyboard goes.
The two people I know with them have used them constantly since purchase pre lockdown.
I use mine everyday, standing up, both when working at home or working in the office. It has been so good for my back and shoulders.
It never goes down. I have been using it for 2 years all the time. Mrs Panda has been using hers for 3 years always stood.

My sit/stand desk is pretty much in stand mode permanently, I don't even think about it now as I just stand all day every day. After a short while of getting used to it, it now seems perfectly normal.
I use this frame with a cheap bamboo Ikea desktop (was cheaper in January when I bought it).

If you want to try one you can often get the desktop sit/stand converter things in 2nd hand office furniture shops for about £75
Using my standing desk now. It's not a desk though, it's a wooden kitchen worktop on top of a row of Ikea Billy bookcases. Perfect height for me at 6'1".

^ Describes my use too. Addtionally, being tall I mainly bought mine so I could have an appropriate desk height when seated - mine's 810mm from the floor rather than the ~700mm or so a regular office desk is. Wouldn't be without the height adjustment.
I had a higher-than-normal-but-fixed-height desk in the office pre-COVID but currently without due to decamp to another building while our office is being refurbed. Hating the times I've got to use a crappy standard-height, non-adjustable desk so continuing to mostly WFH in comfort.
I don't do that many meetings, maybe 3-4hrs a week. But the reviews seem positive so I my go for it.
No I always sit. I did invest in a really good chair though that makes a huge difference. I now get no aches or pains having sat all day
I found this quite informative

Very interested. I can collect. PM me if still available. (Can you send a link too please?
OP, no, but only because I moved and only have space for the "sit" desk that replaced the Ikea one I had at the start of Covid. I have another, slightly larger Sit/Stand waiting to be put together when I have space for it.
Mate who recently got one (bad back) also got a special soft-ish mat to stand on, a bit like the gym mats we had at school. He says that makes a big difference.
