I personally don't, but my son (he is 7) does sometimes, in fact he did it last night and that is what prompted me to start this thread.
He seems to do it every couple of months and he started doing it a couple of years ago.
When he first started doing it my wife and I did not know what he was doing. The first few times he did it were a bit unsettling for us as he did seem a little distressed, but now we know what is happening we just put him back to his bed and gently settle him back down.
Makes me wonder if this is just a phase he is going through or will he have these episodes for the rest of his life 😕
Apparently I used to up till about 15. My dad (who would often work late into the night at home) said it was quite common to see me walk into the kitchen, stand there for a couple of minutes and then walk back up to bed.
I once took a wee in the kitchen too.
One of my sisters did it for a couple of years. To the extent of once going down stairs at 3 in the morning picking the phone up, dialling a random number and then asking if she could go to the toilet.
She grew out of it - most children do.
I sometimes wake up in random places having got out of bed and wandered off. I'm usually in a bit of a panic too, trying to open doors where there aren't any.
Pretty scary when it happens every couple of months or so.
My wife said I did wierd things at University...usually after drinking.
I once got out of bed and walked down the stairs...a little while later she came down and saw the front door open and was worried I walked off down the road.
Fortunately she found me curled up on the living room floor under the rug.
Don't know why the front door was open...I was in my boxers so probably wouldn't have got far.
Only anecdote I have is an ex-girlfriend's dad who used to sleepwalk after an evening on the beer. Her mum quite often discovered him in the wardrobe, weeing into his slippers.
(Thinking about it, maybe I need to see if he wants an account on here.)

My friend trumps that - the first time he met his girlfriend's (now wife) parents he stayed at their house as they live in the other side of the country. He got up and sleepwalked into their bedroom and proceeded to urinate all over the foot of their bed.
I've just read a case study of a guy in the states who, while "sleepwalking" drove to his in-lawns, assaulted his father in law and eventually came to staring at his mother in laws dead and bloody face. He then has hazy recollection of driving himself to the police station where he confessed - after they'd taken him to hospital to deal with the severe lacerations in his hand that he hadn't noticed up to that point. He was eventually acquitted.
