I can't stop watching 'old' clips with James, Hammond and Jeremy and when you watch TGT it just doesn't match up.
Thought you were talking about Noel Edmunds/Quentin Wilson/ VBH/Tiff Needell top gear...
Yes. Don’t watch either Top Gear or new Grand Tour thing
Nope its not the same. I haven't rewatched any of the grand tour,or new top gear even. The old ones on dave are mostly brilliant.
Nope. I watch other stuff
They made some genuinely great tv, but the gags are getting tired.
They should have quit imo.
The pisstaking was great, (and with that, its back to the studio)
Hammond is the weakest of the trio, his fake screaming is starting to get annoying tbh.
It went downhill when William Woolard left.
Yeah, the old version, before it got repetitive and stale in the last few series with Jezza, Hammond and James. Do I miss the last series with them? Don't think I even watched any of it.
Yeah, I miss the phase it went through up until the last series with Jezza, etc which felt a bit too staged/lazy.
I can't get into the new top gear, and lasted 3 episodes of 'the Grand Tour' before deciding it wasn't for me.
Nope. It ran over by about 3 seasons in my opinion
I'll agree the acts are tired and the show started frazzling out around series 21. I think James should go back to reassembling and Jeremy should do his documentaries. Urm Hammond..?
I sometimes watchh reruns of the last series and the series before, Dave seems to have them on repeat....
And I like them, scripted humour or not I like how over all those years they gelled really well with genuine tomes of humour between them.
Cars? Ghah, whateva.. it was/is the humour I enjoy.
Have I watched the recent Chris Evans series, yes but it’s just dull.. I’ll give it time obvz because it takes time to bring out the best in the programme,..
Have I watched The Grand Tour? Nope.. but I did watch thier online version a couple of times.. but it’s a pale imitation..
It went on a bit too long, but it was good for its time.
Nope. I love the new one, it's great. The other ones just annoy me way too much!
I miss Steve Berry 🙁
I'd say about 4 series too many, stale and boorish especially all the challenges that were scripted to hell
Nothing lasts forever, I prefer when TV shows die gracefully, but old Top Gear is still great to watch. The big adventures, the stupid cheap car challenges before they went ridiculous are all genuinely brilliant and it seems like the presenters were actually having fun.

+1.
It was good. Then it got a bit too far up its own arse, the scripts got a bit too scripty and I think JC's ego took over.
Some great moments though....the 'specials' particularly....
I like the new Top Gear. Took a while to find it's stride and improved a lot once Chris Evans went.
The Grand Tour....watched a few and each one was worse than the one before.
No, honestly before ‘punchgate’ most people who commented online about it moaned how stale it had become, too obviously scripted etc which was my opinion too.
I’m sure it in part because she couldn’t give much of monkeys about cars these days, but I watched the first couple of Gran Tours, it started well but soon went back to the same old stuff, only with a huge budget they seemed to want to spend for the sake of it.
First series of new, new TG was so-so, second was better but it’ll never be ‘must see’ TV again.
I don't miss the old (with Clarkson) or new top gear (Never watch even 5 mins of it with that bloke Matt what's his name?) or The Grand Tour.
In fact I don't watch any of the car channels anymore apart from British Touring car for 20 mins.
I would watch Dad's Army over them any day ...
😛
The new Top Gear with"Joey."etc..
..way way too stiff & scripted ..it just doesn't work...neither with the Ginger Minger ..and Clarkson towards the end was just a complete arsehole..constantly trying to outdo himself ..
I miss the show from a motoring point of view ..seeing the latest and greatest ..and it could still work with the right presenters, but as to who they are ..who knows ?
I enjoyed the old one but wouldn't say I miss it.
The new one isn't that bad now the shouty ginger bloke is gone.
No, it’s on Dave everyday.
The old specials were awesome but the general shows, particularly the later ones, were very average in my view. The new version without Evans I think is very good indeed, very good dynamic in the team, I like it a lot.
lol the 'old' top gear.

^this sums it up as well as I could. I *do* miss the specials; not all of them were great, but some of them were brilliant (the South America one in particular). In the age of on-demand TV, I miss having a TV event to look forward to with the family.
I'm looking forward to the new series of TG starting. Couldn't care less about The Grand Tour.
I miss Steve Berry
Me too. He was out of range by the time I'd re-loaded.
Have I watched the recent Chris Evans series, yes but it’s just dull.. I’ll give it time obvz because it takes time to bring out the best in the programme,..
Lets not forget that series 1 of 'old' Top Gear had Jason Dawe instead of James May - he was horribly out of place
My son is now 7.5 yrs and he has started taking an interest in watching some of the old ones.
Watched one a few days back with home made camper vans. He loved it and couldn't stop laughing. Good in some respects, but kind of shows the show up for what it is if a 7 yr old is laughing out loud about it.
