Not after Brexit you don't, unless you have an EU postal address.
Someone I know just got this message from their provider:
"We are writing to inform you that EURid (European Registry for Internet Domains) has decided that anyone without an EU postal address will no longer be able to own a .eu domain name once the UK leaves the EU.
EURid will therefore be terminating all .eu domain names registered to UK addresses on one of two dates:
30 March 2019 if the UK exits the EU with no deal
1 January 2021 if the UK exits the EU with a deal
How to keep your .eu domain name
If you have an EU postal address, you can use it as your domain's admin contact. To continue using your domain as normal, please update your domain registration details.
What if I don't have an EU postal address?
Unfortunately, this means that you will lose your EU domain, but we will keep you updated on next steps and provide you with plenty of guidance so that we can help to minimise the inconvenience caused.
At this stage, if you do not have an EU postal address, we strongly suggest you:
Purchase a new domain name
Transfer your website over to your new domain
Redirect your EU domain to the new website
We understand that you may have some questions and concerns about this news. Please see our FAQ for more information. We will be in touch again regarding this issue soon."
It's the gift that keeps on giving, isn't it.
Huh, I've just thought, I wonder what leave.eu has as it's address...?
But isn't .eu short for Europe, and whilst we may be out of the EU we're still a European country.

Virgin Islands somewhere, I suspect

It's OK people can negotiate our access, just pop it on the list
Interesting. Better email my customers...
Assigning: .EU domain names are open to:
- individuals residing within the European Union, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein,
- business having its registered office, central administration or principal place of business within the European Union, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein,
- organizations established within the European Union. Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein.
But isn’t .eu short for Europe
No ot's European Union.
Although I was surprised to find this was true, it looks like a bs scare story, but actually isn't.

Yup, I thought the same.
Just looked up Leave.EU. They're registered in Bristol. ROFLcopters.
I am sure that they can transfer Leave.EU to one of the many groups in other countries that are fed up of the EU.

Yep now they can see how well it's going for the UK they will be able to sell their vision all over the EU.
Once we've chucked outselves out of the window, Leave.eu will have served its purpose and can rename itself bargainbasementbritain.co.uk or victoryforrussia.co.uk, or whatever Arron Banks fancies, really.

Yes they can join their European brethren in a union of common interest. It's a good idea and may catch on.
Damn it!
We purchased our surname as a .eu.com and have used it as our email address for the last 15 years.
Does this mean I can beat the my Daily Mail reading inlaws (brexit bellends) to death with a clear conscience now? I might just do it anyway.
I assume that any costs associated with registering the domain name will be repaid or at least a share of them for the unused part of the registration period. The costs of this will be significant. Otherwise they must be breaking the terms of the contract that you have with them.
The costs of this will be significant.
To be fair the cost of purchasing and renewing a domain name (rather than hosting it) is pretty minimal. It's the hassle more than the money.

The full cost will be around the impact to a business if the .com .co.uk name is already taken, it's a lot of rebranding

Afraid not. .eu.com is not affected.

Yeah, but I guess you'd sue the UK govt for causing you to default from the terms as posted by Hedley ^ ?
(or pay a load of lawyers to debate the meaning of "open to")
I assume we can transfer domains to .wto without paying extra ?

You could have told me earlier.
Time for a new patio.

Well from one perspective the owners have decided to relocate their address outside of the EU. So it is the people who are moving who are breaking the contract not the other way round.
if I sign up for an internet sevice then move to a new house where this service is not available I don’t get compensation from my isp...
just another item on the long list of things that were not thought out because the leave campaign expected to remain either through the vote or through negotiations...

Anyone in the market for block buying domains and profiteering?
Can't even think of seeing any .eu websites TBH. Maybe companies would have bought the domains and just had a redirect to a proper .com or .co.uk address instead.
From reading the actual documents it's clear that the registrations won't be terminated, they will merely lapse when they run out as it won't be possible to renew. Which is not much comfort, admittedly. But it gives a bit of breathing space.
even though it's true it still feels like a top quality piece of trolling. Nice work whoever did it
