Car has run in to the back of us (everybody ok), very little damage to our car but his car will need a repair. I am not bothered about our car so do i need to inform our insurance? He has accepted full liability ( he is a doctor so i put my trust that he will declare the truth). Should i do it to cover myself just in case or will it put up my insurance even though i am not claiming for anything?

I'm afraid you do have to declare it. If you don't, you can have your insurance cancelled/be refused insurance in the future.

Yes your premium might rise. Yes it's unfair. Sorry for your trouble.

Someone ran in the back of me quite a few years ago.

It didn't seem to effect my insurance. I got my excess back and everything.

he is a doctor so i put my trust that he will declare the truth

Not infallible are they?
