Fancy getting one of these as they have come down in price now v2 is out. I can think of a number of uses and one would have been super useful tonight as I needed to video a bunch of scouts ice skating!

Any users out there? Are they reliable and can you get them to track whilst on a tripod - i.e could I set one up by a jump and get it to track a rider as they went past?

I've had one, but gave it to my sister to use instead.

It's very good at stabilising and will track on a tripod, but they aren't fast enough to track a rider. And once the rider/target was out of frame you'd have to take over, it won't automatically go back and look for another "target". You set up the tracking by manually selecting the target and it then tries to track that shape/object, but it'll fail if the target goes to fast past or goes past it's range of motion. They don't go 360 degrees.

Battery life of your phone will be HAMMERED. If you use it lots have a charger handy for the phone.

When you record, the images/video files don't go straight into the Camera Roll. They're stored in the DJI Go software and you have to save them from there and they end up in the camera roll.

They are great and I may get it back as she's not using it! Enjoy yours.

Really happy with mine. I don't use it for action shooting so I can't comment on tracking of fast moving subjects. It does hammer the phone battery but you can connect the phone to the Osmo which helps a bit, even if awkward.

Yes, but you're getting a camera built in that is better than your mobile.

Worth a look at the Zhiyun gimbals as well.
