Couple of questions about fitting laminate flooring.

I know you leave an 10mm expansion gap at walls, but I am laying 3 different types of laminate in the house, and they meet each other in doorways; can they butt up to each other, or do they need an expansion gap there as well, due to possible different expansion rates? What about the trims that you use in doorways, do they need a gap to slot into?

The doorway trims are generally T shaped, with a section that screws to the floor in between the sheets, then the 'cap'. I'd definitely leave at least 5mm on each side of that as well (as long as its covered by the trim).

You wouldn't want different styles of flooring butting up to each other anyway so use a doorway trim.
