Anyone used DIY Shutters? Or is there a cheaper and / or better option?
My wife would like shutters installed in our front room window. I'm reasonably handy, so not worried about fitting them, just want something reasonable quality that doesn't break the bank.
Ideas welcome!
Watching this one with interest. My wife hates sunlight waking her up in the morning. We have a black out blind and thick curtains with blackout linings which are seemingly not enough...
I guess STW is less middle class than I thought 😂
I’ve not used diy shutters, so can’t help you there. When I’ve been tasked with supply and fit of shutters I’ve either made them or got a friendly joiner to make them.
I’ve also refitted plenty of shutters that were removed because the windows needed repair or replacement.
As for fitting, how are you with shooting in and hanging doors? Or more precisely, double doors with a rebate?
If you’re good on that activity, you’ll enjoy fitting shutters. If not, then I suggest you find somewhere, something to practise with first.
