Any clues on how I can do this? The app works on my phone and the kid’s Xbox.
I’ve never been able to make the two talk to each other with the screen mirroring function.
I can’t update the apps the telly has on it...it came with Netflix and Amazon but I can’t update it.
Is my only chance a lightning cable to HDMI adapter or a really long hdmi cable from the Xbox which is in a different room?
Ta

I hadn’t thought of dongle things...never seen the point before but yes, that could be the answer!

I've got a dumb Samsung tv on the kitchen wall and it's only source is a firestick.

I have a chromecast I use for Disney+, Netflix, Amazon Video and Youtube, works really well, on very rare occasions let down by the rubbish router my IP provided!

An fairly old (gen 1?) Chromecast we had lying around was the solution on my 7 year old Samsung.

The hdmi adapter to tv route is a bit of a bodge. Also the lead from Apple is stupidly expensive. I have one which I use occasionally for other things. It’s Good for Zoom at the moment. I found Chrome a bit clunky. You can also do laptop to tv with a suitable lead. The Firestick is so much better than any of those. I have a fairly old tv so haven’t got 4K. The standard HD Firestick is brilliant. It has Alexa built in so you can simply ask it to find things. That works really well with Youtube too as trying to enter text with a remote is rubbish.

Surely Apple TV / Airplay is the answer ?

I've got an equally frustrating (but more ancient) Panasonic TV - I'm using a firestick and freeview box for all entertainment options - covers most things.

Apple TV is an answer but a really expensive one. It’s about £150.

Chromecast here.
£20 for a PCWorld box open return on eBay.
Just works.

Bump

Seen mixed reports over whether the apple AV adapter actually works for Disney+. Had anyone had success linking the app on an Ipad to their TV using the AV adapter and an HDMI cable?

Firestick 4K is the obvious answer. Mine streams Disney+ without issues.
