Anyone else got a mate that things “just happen to”?

Good friend of mine has just had yet another incident where something bad has happened to him that wasn’t his doing.

We used to take him out on bike rides as a sort of insurance policy, but he hasn’t got a bike now after a motorist nearly succeeded in killing him a couple of year ago.

TBH, the only one i've had it generally *was* his fault.

He just couldn't see it.

It's generally me, I'm the "ying" to good luck's "yang" ! Although one of my other cycling mate's has had a bit of a run lately - mine cumulated in snapping my spine 8 years ago.

I've only knackered a shoulder and cut my forearm open since. He's passed out in the kitchen due to being super fit and low blood pressure - lead to a medically imposed driving ban for 12 months, then crashed into a pothole and broke his pelvis (not too bad) crashed on leaves in a cycle lane, then last year, went too fast on a grassy descent, got stuck in a rut and OTB'ed. Turned out he'd punctured a lung and broke 4 ribs. He still went to the pub and had a chinese, but day two of our MTB weekend, he spent in the car, whilst we did Llandegla.

The car sounds better to be honest but I can't believe you didn't let him go sit and eat cake etc in OPA.

My mummy told me to be an example to others.

She didn't specify if that was to be a good example, a bad example or an example of what might go wrong so I embraced them all at various times.

If you can't be an example be a warning.

Username checks out. 😀

On a more serious note, I know someone who's probably wrecked more cars than I've even owned, And I've owned a lot more than average for my (middle) age. Not all thier fault but the late braking, lack of progressive driving, constant faffing with the stereo etc. I'm sure can acount for most.

And then we have a different, but similar catagory of person, who I like to call 'drama queens', (ironically mostly blokes) it's like they thrive off it...but it's all ultimatly self manufactured through self entitlemant, lack of awarenes and lack of tact etc.
