As we have had an amazing summer, I am expecting a rubbish winter so I am looking a getting Some for the winter, one each for myself and the misses.

I see they now make a 'loose' fit, I am 5ft 11, about 17stone, mostly back/chest and ass, the missus is 5ft 5 and curvy.

Any experiences of the suits?

Are they worth it? how do they last in the UK mud?

I have a Leatt drysuit and it's brilliant, Gets me out when I wouldn't normally go out, ride with mates who are miserable and soaked, whilst I stay relatively dry, peel it off when I get home and clean underneath.

I'd only wear it on the emtb though, far too bulky and hot to wear on a normal bike

Thanks, does it feel more bulky than a waterproof jacket and trousers?

The Leatt is a really thick, heavy material, so possibly. But you feel a bit more 'free' not having a waistband

ive got a leat suit too. Bought the heavier weight version. Its amazing for keeping clean and dry. I only wear it at uplfgt days as would be way to hot for pedaling. Feels very nice to peel it off and be free of mud at the end of the day.

As a normally hot person, they sound too hot for trail riding

@nwgiles I was intrigued by them as well ,then around this time last year Sports Pursuit made a massive boo boo and listed the Alpine Stars version for £38 !!!!I was in like a flash before they realised 😁

As has been said ideal on the EBike probably too hot otherwise but agreed , despite my mates take the proverbial and the Power Ranger jibes I'm the one getting back from a ride peeling it off being warm dry and smug 👍

for £38 its worth a punt, I don't mind the power ranger jokes, was there a fat ranger?

That's what I thought as well. £38 if it didn't work oh well but £38 and it has happy days 👍

As for the Fat Ranger 🤔

I played rugby for a few years, so I have broad shoulders but I am probably as round as wide, so would i look like an umpalumpa ?

Who cares, I am looking at getting them for both myself and the Missus so we will be matching, is that worse? 😆

I got one of the £38 sportpursuit alpinestars suits also.
Not even used it yet because last winter wasn't horrible enough!

Consider dungarees? I use the Madison ones, they're pretty good and you can change what you wear on top to suit the conditions knowing that your bottom half and up your back will be protected regardless.

Yes, I have these also. Great for when it's loppy out but not actually pissing it down when you leave the door

I've had a Dirtsuit for a few years now.

Very rarely wear it as it's just way too hot. Think I've used it a max of three times and one of those was walking not riding.

For me it has to be well into the minus figures, very windy and loads of slushy snow on the ground.

Even then I'd only use it on an Ebike.

On the plus side it does seem very well made and at this rate will last for ever.😉

My son has a Dirtlej.

He rarely wears it - any pedalling uphill and it's too hot the most of the time. Around freezing and raining it really comes into its own and it's fabulous for keeping dry and warm. It's less adaptable than separates, but superbly made and nice to have for the occasional day in the year.

He was given his by Dirtlej, he has said he won't spend his own money on a replacement.

Got the Leatt suit and use it in my e-bike, wouldn’t use it on my other bikes as I run hot myself. Got dungarees also and will pedal in them but they aren’t a onesie. The onesie is great in the middle of winter, throw on and ride, finish remove and drive home dry. It makes those days that you/I might think should I shouldn’t I bother easy.

Hadn't though about dungarees, that's a good shout.

Thanks for your input all

I got one in a sale for a while back.  Hasn't had loads of use but when it's been needed it was fantastic.  It's last serious outing was a horrendously wet and wild day at Antur, still had a great day despite the wind and rain pummeling the hill.

I was a medium on their chart (5 11 & 3/4) but should have opted for a large.  The arms are long but I find the torso on the medium too short.  It's getting tight, especially now I've taken up olympic level biscuit eating.
