Never really considered a turbo before but have a hankering for one now. I don't own a road bike so it would need to be compatible with my MTB. I won't be using it with Zwift so don't need bells and whistles.... just something to get me pedalling when I can't be arsed to get out in the mud. Does such a thing exist?

Any trainer that will take 142x12 will also take 148. Just add a spacer.

Mine came with all fittings... oh and Zwift? ... just do it! Totally addictive and time flies, this coming from a guy who despised turbos and has zero interest in video/computer games😉

Ok... have had a look at a few and am tempted but would appreciate some guidance. I can't spend more than £700 on the trainer unless there is a damn good reason (I know I need to budget for the cassette and ANT+ dongle on top). I'll be cancelling a gym membership i don't make enough use of outside of lockdown so that will cover a subscription to something. Does Zwift have MTB routes or do I need to look elsewhere? Would one of the elite interactive trainers be better for an MTB?
