I'd say the intention was courteous.
What's that raised area for anyway?

Yeah, that looks like it is driven by someone who knows how to get things done.
This was them getting to the carpark.

Well, unless there's a "No Parking" sign...

I suspect the general tone of the replies would be different if it was an Evoque.

Nowt wrong with that.

I’d park there if there wasn’t a space.

Yep, we'd have been pointing out they'll have trashed their alloys. Also everyone knows evoque parking is denoted by yellow zig-zags.

Room for one either side, perhaps he's waiting for his mates to turn up.

Not unusual here. All 4x4 owners seem to think it's civic duty to park on any bit of grass/hardstanding/pavement presumably to save taking up actual parking spaces, because if they do use proper parking spaces they need to park using at least 2 anyway.

It's a Land Rover. It's not parked, it's broken down (again)

MATT'S GOT A VOLVO ESTATE. BEST CAR EVS. WITH THE WINTER PACK.
It's OK that you didn't know that though, he hardly ever mentions it.

Maybe the owner will pitch a tent next to it. Wild camping innit.

A shrubbery. They removed old plants on Friday for some new ones later this week.

And he ain't on double yellow.

He’s trying to avoid dropping oil all over that nice clean car park - as in ‘if a Landy isn’t leaking it must be empty!’...

It was obviously a structure of some sort once, there’s the remains of a wall and some bent thick rebar or similar. The only problem I’d have with parking my car on it would be the worry something on it might puncture a tyre.

And you’ve held onto the photo for sixteen years waiting for just this opportunity to post it!
Yeah, right.
