Mrs a11y's expressed an interest in getting some sort of digital photo frame. I see her point as the mini a11ys love seeing our photos (they're transfixed by the photo slideshow on my MacBook's screensaver and I get yelled at when I then try to use it...).

She's sent me a link to this: https://www.skylightframe.com/. I'm not keen on idea of needing to use a specific app, hence wanting to present alternative solutions of which I'm sure there must be plenty. But I know nothing about modern digital photo frames so I'm unsure where to start.

Any suggestions for a simple, user-friendly digital photo frame solution that won't cost the earth?

I use OneDrive for photo storage as well as having all our photos in Google Photo as a backup. Also all stored on my MacBook's HD. Not sure if any of that guides us towards a particular solution?

Google Nest Hub?

It's a digital photo frame with benefits . It'll feed itself from your Google Photos - either selected albums or anything you want.

Google Chromecast on the TV.
Ours pulls from selected Google Photo albums when on standby (mainly of the dog)
The Alexa Office / Echo Show does the same.
