Just got the new issue. The music content has been pretty PUNK lately. Some quality shit in there!!!
Yeah, I really enjoy Huck too.
It reminds me of an American magazine called Heckler which was around in the 90's, similar mix of surf/skate/snowboarding/music and art. It disappeared ages ago though.
Huck is the only magazine I buy now (my subscriptions to Private Eye and this esteemed organ apart). I used to get Maximum RocknRoll too, but my appetite for obscure Hungarian crust-punk combos isn't what it once was! Punk Planet was my favourite magazine, used to get Heart Attack too and there was a great (free) British zine called Fracture.
Honourable mention to the dearly departed Skyscraper too which covered everything from twee indie to hardcore. Thrasher used to be good for music too, I imagine it still is.
I guess the internet is responsible for the demise of many niche publications and whilst I love being able to find out about anything online, there's nothing like sitting down with a good magazine and killing some time.
Diggin HUCK magazine at the mo - any other rounded mags out there you dig?
I don't understand the question! 😥
Fracture! I still have the last ever of Fracture kicking around somewhere I think.
Magazines that aren't specific to one subject, like mountain biking, surfing, fishing etc
Huck is really good, very well laid out too.

I've still got it too, it's in the spare room somewhere.
It was a real shame when that came to an end, such a good magazine. I used to pick it up from Stand Out (RIP) in Salisbury or whilst at Hull University, the Adelphi.
There's a good zine called Last Hours which I keep meaning to subscribe too, it's pretty comprehensive and seems to have filled the gap left by Fracture.

Maximum rocknroll. was that the one printed like a newspaper but normal size and had bits of the Anachists cook book it, the bomb making parts and other naughty bits you wouldnt get away with now ,if its the one i used to read. Classifieds were full of people after "any G.G Allen stuff".
If not anybody no what mag/fanzine i am talking about?
I don't dig anything these days, except flower beds.
Which leads me to..
Does anyone remember an American skate mag that was extremely 'edgy', for want of a better word? Lots of pics of people doing messed up things and tales of debauchery, and I think some semi-porn style ads/photoshoots? Unless I have just imagined it all.

Aren't you home with the downies?

Yes, that was Big Brother.
We have them to thank(?) for Jackass as those skits and pranks with Bam Margera, Knoxville et al originally appeared as filler in their videos.
Then became CKY (Camp Kill Yourself)... looks like Dunne took that as 'Ronseal'.
Ah yes, that was the one - I remember my brother getting it and my mum not being too impressed finding it lying around the house!
Yeah Heckler was cool. I have the anthology book. Great read!
MRR was tops! MRR = black hands.
For a while I was reading Adrenalin but haven't seen that for sometime.
