I don't seem to have been as bothered as some with all the new ads and pop-ups but the weird scrolling factoid non-ads are doing my head in.
I'm not sure what the point is of them and illustrating a fact about Tom Simpson dying with a 'comedy' photo of someone doing an endo seems very odd and in very poor taste.
If I scroll past Pamela Anderson and Smoky the Bear (WTF?) I just seem to get endless american sports facts.
What is the point of them?

Says alot about your internet habits 🙂
I know he's dead but how is Joe doing?
For £1.50 per month your problem is over.
But what is it FOR? It's not an advert and you can't click on it...
Yeah I thought that photo wierd.
Also the "fact" about the lead bottles carried by a tdf rider. Erm he'd have to lug that extra weight up the hill so not that bright.
Am I the only P'er who gets the subscription thing popping up? It really is annoying and as I'm already subscribing why would I want to do it again?
Oh, so the point of them is to annoy us till we pay not to receive them. No wonder people moan about the forum or post less.
Quality whining.

I don't know what it says in the "fact" but I'm fairly sure those were a real thing - they didn't lug them up the hill, they were handed them at the top.
Nope Pinkster, not just you. And yes they are definitely annoying.
I presumed it was like a test card for whoever supplies the adverts, so they can say "our sport specific adverts get so many views and clicks compared to your current google ad's"
I've had a few of the subscription pop ups and yes they are annoying. Also had some strange bits of text floating down the screen and disappearing when it gets to the bottom. No idea what it said though.
I'm paid up til Jan 2019 I think but can't see me paying again.
I didn’t know he was ill.
It was a shock to me. Maybe it was the itching powder...
They’re just crap facts. Atleast ads serve a purpose.
I'm looking forward to the day when all the threads on the front page are about the forum, including a thread about how all the threads are about the forum. Complete! 🙂
Interesting fact about Tom Simpson, they're building a whole new housing estate named after him on the site of the old Harworth colliery.
Just sayin'.
Hmm, I know what you mean.
I still can't get over the fact that in 1989, American cyclist Greg LeMonde won the Tour de France despite having 39 pellets embedded in him due to a hunting accident two years before.
One day, this useful nugget is going to win me a pub quiz.
