Anyone else getting a different dial tone to normal when ringing people?
Do you mean dial tone - so you are calling from a landline - or ringing tone?
Ringing tone is different if it's a mobile that's abroad.
Sorry - meant ringing tone.
Also getting a different ring tone from mobiles in the UK this week.
It might be due to increasing numbers of people having their phone lines changed to fully digital or VOIP. I hardly ever use my landline, it’s only real purpose is to allow spam phone calls and to plug my router and Sky box in.
Otherwise I only use my mobile, and that isn’t often, so I can’t say I’ve noticed any difference.
I've phoned a couple of people this week and got the international ringing tone. I figured I'd dialled incorrectly so hung up and tried again and got a normal ringing tone.
People have have told me this week that it's an international dial tone when calling me. No idea why.

I phoned my wife earlier and when she answered I asked her what country she was in as the dial tone was not what I expected!
Are you active in trade unionism? Probably Special Branch or M15 having a listen.
Phone my parents landline and the engaged tone was really odd. I tried three times and it was the same all three.
