So, I recently got stung £11 to handle pre-paying £19 for importing some things from China. I hear FedEx allow you to add a credit card to your account so you can avoid the handling fees charged. Anyone know if this is possible with DHL please? I’ve checked their website but I can’t see anything useful. This is also for DHL Express.
That sounds like the Post Office - I think DHL deliver to your local PO sorting office who then stick their own costs on top, although I don’t think I’ve ever had that happen with stuff I’ve had sent from China. America, on the other hand... 🤬
I bought a watch from AliExpress. No customs fees or handling charge. But I went with the slow free shipping. Took 3 or 4 weeks.
Apparently DHL always hit you for VAT, fees, handling charge etc.
Unless they’re collecting on behalf of the PO then it’s not Royal Mail. Arrives in a DHL van too, so I doubt it.
Alternative would be to get the vendor to pre-pay import, but I’m not sure if they’re setup for that.
