Most of the time there's nothing wrong with living in Northern Ireland, but then every so often something happens to remind you just what a bunch of narrow minded, backward, biggoted and horrible c fs you are living in relative proximity to. And the worst of them seem to be public representatives of one form or other.

“could not tell whether or not the women had been rightly or wrongly convicted as he didn’t have the facts"

'Facts' about whether these women were or weren't actual witches? 😯

Exactly the same version that tried them 300 years ago.

Isalandmagee/Larne BC - it hardly matters either way 🙂

Pity they wouldn't work on something important and sort that quarry out.

I thought Bolsover was supposed to be the 'satanic capital' of Britain?

Love this helpful illustration on the mirror piece:

Ald McKee said he “could not tell whether or not the women had been rightly or wrongly convicted as he didn’t have the facts and was not going to support devil worship”.

From that and the other quotes it's clear the man believes in witches and witchcraft. Perhaps Harry Potter books should be banned.

He's a member of TUV.

A charming bunch.

What do you expect?

There was an apron with some knots in it. What more evidence do you need?

what exactly is a witches' knot?

Alderman McKee claimed the plaque would become a “shrine to paganism” and added: “I could not support the proposal because I believe it to be anti-God.”
usual religious intolerance from [s]STW[/s] oh erm religious people

I imagine the trial going something like this:

WitchFinderGeneral holds up an apron that has a dozen different knots tied on it.

WFG: "Can the accused tell the court what I am holding up?"

Accused: "It's an apron with some knots sir"

WFG: "And can the accused tell me the name of this particular knot?"

Accused: "Which knot?"

WFG: "Aaahaaaaaaaaaa!"

Has he generalised this "facts" view to the whole son of god/trinity resurrection claim?
My guess is he is as consistent as he is logical.

Jack McKee. Septuagenarian throwback to the dark days of tribal extremes where shouting bollocks garnered you a following. Fortunately that generation of politician hasn't got long left.

Bolsover is certainly a den of something or other. And having been on the wrong end of the Beast of Bolsover, I can imagine which devil they worship.

Not sure the signs for the Pendle Witches are centres of satanic worship. I suspect someone felt the need to raise his profile in election year...
