Not surprisingly, board track racing was incredibly dangerous often as famous for its mortality rate as it was for its winning riders.
I remember reading an article (perhaps on wikipedia) about board track races and how pretty much every event featured the deaths of either racers or spectators, but that the race's popularity finally wained as it was "perceived to be dangerous". No shit!
My dad owned a cyclone board track racer. I think it was a 1918ish. He sold it to an American collector in 1998 much to my dismay. The sound of it made your teeth vibrate.
