I'm looking at various 2-in-1 laptop options and this seems to be a pretty good option for the money. Decent spec, small(ish) form factor and Dell have a rep for good build quality. Has anyone here got any real world experience of these and care to impart words of joy or tales of woe? Alternatively if there is a "must have" please share with the class.
I've got a couple of the i7 versions around here somewhere.
They're pretty nice to use, well made, screen are expensive to replace if you drop them as they're bonded in.
There's not much to dislike about them, other than the tablet mode is a bit pointless, and if you do ever decide you want to flip it over so the keyboard in upside down (lord only knows why) it tends to rock a bit if you use the touch-screen.
I've had a couple of dozen of the older model 'in the field' for a few years now, zero failures that weren't gravity or fluid based.
Had one for about 18 months, purchased via the Dell refurbish pages so a descent deal.
Been faultless, seems solid and nicely built, good battery life.
It just does what it needs to. We don't use it that much so it's had an easy life.
Depends on use, if really to be used as a portable and carried around everyday, go for the latitude range. Just much more robust.
Been buying Dell for the last 15 years, never been unhappy
Not sure what advantages it has over a Surface, OK I haven't used that specific model before but have used other 2-in-1's (inc. a Dell model) and it always ended up just being an expensive way to buy an ultra portable laptop, too heavy for regular use as a tablet
