Dehumidifiers come up frequently on here.

I was just looking at getting a large one and came across Low Grain variants (they're compressor based so not dessicant). They seem to be primarily commercial due to their ability to remove more moisture. I wouldn't look to use them to dry the air as much as they can do (in the same way as a conventional one will run longer than you need it to) but from looking at the stats they are significantly more efficient.

Anybody have any real world views on this - it feels like it might be in the space of COPs for heatpumps!

I don't know how much more efficient they are but they seem to be about 10 times as expensive, don't seem to get one for less than £1000.

They're not that much different for high moisture extraction rates - 80l a day. If running for a long time then won't take long to make that difference is cost up in running cost given the price of electric.

Ecor Pro EPD170LGR 80L Low Grain Refrigerant Dehumidifier with Water P – Aircare - this LGR one is 560w

Ecor Pro D950 85 Litre Compressor Dehumidifier – Aircare - this conventional one is 1400w
