I ended up having a ton of firewood to chop, saw and mutilate on Saturday. Despite breaking a couple of jigsaws and losing feeling in the fingers on my left hand, I managed to fill 8 boxes and store them in one of the lofts. Man-task for the day complete.

Too tired to do anything other than sit on my sofa, I sorted through some photos from last month when we had slightly nicer weather.

If you're bored at lunch time and want to remind yourself what summer is supposed to look like, feel free to have a look. I won't bother posting everything in its own thread here like I normally do, so I've just linked the blog posts instead.

Damn you Mr File. I have found myself with a few weeks off this summer and, despite of a long list of jobs to do, I may have to drag the family back up to Skye.

One question though, just how do you manage to arrange such amazing weather?

I suppose if you're going to be Scottish AND live there, you might as well take advantage of the few benefits on offer....

😉

Anna is Catholic, she takes care of things like the weather 🙂

I made a promise to myself that when I moved back I wouldn't be lazy! It's so easy to just stay in the city at the weekend, but it just seems such a waste with the Highlands so close. I get to spend all week in town, weekends are for adventures 🙂

Loving the stories and pics for all the right reasons - mostly but not exclusively the adventure aspect 😉

Happy reminders of renting a little motor boat up at Ardmair Point one choppy day. Oh the lack of refreshing lack of health and safety!

Heading up to Skye this week for a few days camping with the girlfriend. Planning on staying at the staffin campsite on the north of the island and taking in the Quirang and Old Man of Storr. Would love to hire a guide and do the Black Cuillins but even the thought of the exposure scares the shit out me!!!

Gazza, you could climb Sgurr na Banachdich and come back down the awesome Sgurr nan Gobhar ridge. You'll be scrambling on the way down, it's not that technically difficult, but it is rather airy!

Alternatively, just come back down Banachdich the way you ascended. No scrambling involved and has some of the best views on the Cuillin. That said, it's pretty gruelling on the way up (but an absolute hoot on the way back down!). See here for more info Banachdich

When are you up? I'm there from Friday to Sunday (unless the weather is grim, in which case we'll hang closer to Glen Nevis). The forecast is looking good at the moment though!

Nice one - very lucky to get weather like that on Skye IME!

We went up and down Bannachdich, there is a route in a Skye walks book, can't remember which one - it is a bit of a hard slog, but nothing scary/technical and incredible views, I would highly recommend it.

Peterfile, think we're heading up on Wednesday for 4 nights, although we do have the option to stay longer. Sgurr na Banachdich looks fantastic but I doubt the girlfriend would be up for that. From what I've heard, Skye has been blessed with some fine weather lately and hope it continues

There is another way you could have had a quick look at Coruisk without resorting to google 😉

Globalti +1, I love Skye and especially Loch Coruisk. We had a wild winter camp at L.C. a few years ago, had to shelter in the small stone refuge as you walk down to the rocky beach. In good weather it's fantastic and by the looks of it, you were lucky with the weather.
